TRAVEL

By Air

Recommended airports include: Orlando International Airport (MCO) in Orlando, FL or Orlando-Sanford International Airport (SFB) in Sanford, FL.

Please plan to make your own arrangements from the airport to the hotel and from the hotel to the airport. It could take up to one hour of travel time to get to the hotel from these airports, so please allow time for plane delays and one hour of ground travel time when making flight arrangements.

By Car

With a number of major highways flowing into Central Florida and throughout the rest of the state, travel by car in Orlando is extremely convenient. Once here, visitors can choose from a large selection of rental vehicles and taxis.

Car Rentals

We've partnered with Enterprise Rent-A-Car to get you the very best deal! Make your rental car reservation by visiting their website. Click here to download the discount flier as a PDF.

Taxi

Taxis may be hired at the Orlando International Airport or Orlando-Sanford International Airport. The cost of a hired taxi to Downtown Orlando ranges from $40-60.

Taxis may carry up to 9 passengers, and charge the same rate regardless of the number of passengers. All taxicabs picking up at the Airport are regulated by the City of Orlando's Vehicle-for-Hire ordinance which requires fares to be determined by a taximeter. Flat rate fees are not authorized; therefore metered rate may vary from the approximate rates quoted above.

NOTE: Although we are partners with UCF, the John and Rita Lowndes Shakespeare Center is NOT located on the UCF campus. Our theater is located just north of downtown Orlando in Loch Haven Cultural Park.

Directions to Lowndes Shakespeare Center at 812 East Rollins Street, Orlando, FL 32803.

Directions From I-4 (Coming from Daytona or Tampa):
  • From I-4 - take the Princeton Street Exit (Exit 85).
  • Head East on Princeton Street.
  • At the corner of Princeton and Mills (US Highway 17 / 92) turn Left.
  • Go one block to East Rollins Street and turn Left.
  • The entrance to the free parking area is at the first driveway on the Left.

Parking

Free parking is available in Loch Haven Cultural Park; however, a simultaneous event in Loch Haven Park may create a parking challenge. If our lot is full you may find alternate parking at the Orlando Repertory Theatre, the Orlando Science Center garage, or along Mills Avenue. Please allow yourself a few minutes extra arrival time.

For directions from other locations not covered, please contact the Box Office at 407-447-1700 or boxoffice@orlandoshakes.org.

PLANNING YOUR VISIT

Central Florida is a thriving destination with beautiful scenery, historic homes, world-class attractions, and activities aplenty. When planning your visit to Orlando Shakespeare Theater, we encourage you to stay a few days in Orlando and experience hundreds of reasons to linger.

Loch Haven Cultural Park

The Lowndes Shakespeare Center is located within Loch Haven Park, which covers 45 acres and serves as the region's premier cultural park. Nestled between three lakes, Lake Estelle on the north, Lake Rowena on the east, and Lake Formosa on the south, the Loch Haven Cultural Park is located on North Mills Avenue and Princeton Street. The lawn areas in the center portion of the park are wonderful places to sit and enjoy the lake views shaded by majestic oak trees. One of Central Florida’s oldest and largest oak trees (known as "The Mayor") grows in the park near the Mennello Museum.
