Dracula:
The Journal of Jonathan Harker

October 9 - November 10, 2013

Goldman Theater | Adapted from the novel by Bram Stoker Directed by Michael Carleton

"Enter freely and of your own will."

Centuries before True Blood and the Twilight Series, the original Prince of Darkness reigned over the shadowy world of the undead. Experience the celebrated gothic scream-fest in a one-man tour-de-force that uses Stoker's original text of journal entries, letters, and newspaper clippings.

Jam-packed with plenty of thrills and chills, Dracula's spellbinding originality and inventive theatricality is guaranteed to keep you on the edge of your seat, while remaining true to the core of a legendary story that launched a thousand teeth.

Audience Comments

“Refreshing…. This ‘Dracula’ has the requisite bite. You believe Harker is afraid. And, with this stagecraft and some imagination, that fear can be contagious.”- Orlando Sentinel

“Possibly the most creative retelling of the classic tale. If you are a horror story fan or love theater that chills you to the core, this production is not to be missed.” - Kimberly Moy, Broadway World- Broadway World Orlando

“Adaptation can be tricky things, and Helsinger has done an excellent job. There are no cheap scares here… A psychological thriller [that] will leave you breathless…” - Archikulture Digest

“Fantastic acting, set, and lighting! Saw this play when Jim Helsinger performed it. I was thrilled then and was thrilled last night! Kudos to all!” - Audience Comment

“The show grabbed me from the moment the music started and held tight straight through intermission. It didn't let up again until the end. Its rare that my mind doesn't wander off a little during a performance. This one was truly a WOW.” - Audience Comment

“I've already recommended this play to friends! It was gripping!” - Audience Comment
