Orlando Shakespeare Theater is searching for a full-time, seasonal Carpenter for our season (ASAP through April 21st, 2024).
Responsibilities Include:
· Fabricating, installation, maintenance, and strike of the scenery for each production.
· Reading drafted plates detailing building methods for scenery.
· Maintaining a clean, safe and well-organized scene shop.
· Assisting with painting and prop fabrication as necessary.
Requirements:
· 1+ years experience in theater carpentry or similar experience.
· Strong knowledge of woodworking.
· Knowledge of metalworking and/or rigging is a plus.
· Knowledge of use and safety for standard scene shop equipment.
· Must be able to lift 50 pounds, and push/pull up to 100 pounds.
· Must be able to climb ladders, scaffolds, and use a personnel lift when necessary.
Salary:
· $16.00 - $18.00 per hour plus PTO, health benefits, and retirement.
· Housing and transportation is not provided.
· The position is full time (40 hours), seasonal and is paid hourly plus overtime over 40 hours.
· Normal shop hours are 7am – 6pm Monday through Thursday.
· Night and weekend availability may be required.

Overall Job Responsibilities
The Assistant Box Office Manager ensures the efficient operations of the Orlando Shakes Box Office working with the Spectrix Box Office software. This position is responsible for supporting the overall box office functions including season set up, subscription and single ticket sales, coordination of student field trips, while providing excellent customer service to all our audiences.
Specific Tasks
- Answer telephones and complete ticket purchases
- Manage box office email, voicemail, and respond to all inquiries
- Manage any ticket donation requests
- Lead the field trip ticket requests and manage the field trip sheet
- Print out and organize tickets mail or pick up
- Distribute Will Call tickets, reprint tickets, and assist guests as needed during shows
- Be familiar with the season, theaters, and overall operations
- Manage invoicing and payment for tickets as necessary
- Manage the box office when Box Office Manager is out and for smaller events.
Skills
- Proficient in Spectrix or other box office/ticketing software
- Highly proficient in Google G-suite, Zoom, and Microsoft Office
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to document well, reconcile financial information and keep excellent records.
- The ability to anticipate needed services, organize pertinent information and communicate effectively with everyone.
- Ability to function both independently and as a team member.
- A demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities, solve problems and make decisions and work with minimum instruction or supervision.
- Must have a professional attitude, appearance, and personality.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Must communicate well in person, over phone, or by email with everyone.
- Ability to communicate in Spanish is preferred.

The Director of Development designs and executes a strategic development plan and boosts the long-term health of the organization by building meaningful and productive relationships with funders. They work closely with the Board of Directors, Director of Marketing, and other department directors to steward, solicit, and secure contributions from existing and new sources. They oversee the development staff and report to the Managing Director. This is a full-time, exempt position, requiring a regular day time schedule and some evening and weekend hours. Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all strategies related to research, prospecting, cultivating, soliciting, retaining, and upgrading donors through comprehensive fundraising programs including major and planned gifts, corporate sponsorships, foundation and public sector and government grants, events, and an annual campaign.
- Create sponsorship packages and opportunities.
- Collaborate with the Managing and Artistic Directors to determine the overall fundraising goals for the year and develop an appropriate expense budget to achieve the goals.
- Facilitate the Board’s participation in cultivating, soliciting, and acknowledging donors and serve as lead staff person on relevant Board committees.
- Oversee accurate, reliable, and timely donor information management including gift processing and acknowledgement, donor prospecting and research, and active management of donor records.
- Supervise the performance of Development staff members by providing direct feedback, developing annual performance goals, coaching, and mentoring as appropriate.
- Work closely with an external contracted grant writer and consultant to ensure timely completion and reporting on all grant applications and processes.
- Represent the organization at events such as major donor functions, receptions, community events, etc.
- Oversee and grow the planned giving program.
Skills:
- Five years of experience managing fundraising for a nonprofit organization
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in developing relationships with local, regional and national institutional funders.
- Knowledge of planned giving.
- Experience inspiring and managing a team.
- Strong understanding of budgets.
- Extensive grants management experience
- Advance knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel and Google Suite, particularly Calendar, Email, Docs, Sheets and Slides
- Have and maintain a valid Florida driver’s license
- Experience with Spectrix CRM a plus
