(Iola Beckford | 3rd Season) Originally from Montclair, New Jersey, Avis-Marie is an alumnus of Howard University Fine Arts. For the past 30 years in Florida, she has directed her share of plays and she films and coaches actors through auditions in the Orlando area. On weekends, she works at Universal Studios Island of Adventure as the Talking Fountain. Over the years she has appeared as characters in a number of theatrical roles: Orlando Shakes audiences may remember her in 2019’s Oh Lord What a Night and 2015’s The Best of Enemies. Other theatrical credits include The Last Days of Judas Iscariot and A Raisin in the Sun. Television roles include – Lodge 49 on AMC as recurring character Anita Jones, Oprah Winfrey’s series Greenleaf, as recurring character Misty Williams on OWN, and has had roles in the television shows Doom Patrol, Stranger Things, Atlanta, The Purge, The Quad and Bloodline. Movie releases have included the ever popular horror film Jeepers Creepers, starring Gina Philips and Justin Long, Netflix’s The Dirt and Before I Wake, HBO’s Confirmation starring Kerry Washington, and Waves starring Sterling K. Brown. Upcoming roles: Honk For Jesus. Save a Soul starring Regina Hall and Sterling K. Brown, and an entrant at the Sundance Film Festival, and Memories with Samuel L. Jackson.
