Carlos Pereyo

Carlos Pereyo is thrilled to be back home at Orlando Shakes! You may remember seeing him back in 2018 and 2019 making children laugh as Baloo the bear in The Jungle Book, belting as the Giant in Jack and the Beanstalk, or seizing the throne as Fortinbras in Hamlet. In his time away Carlos has been exploring new forms of his craft, after studying at the Freeman Studio in NYC, he found himself working on two Off-Broadway immersive theatre pieces: The Cooping Theory: Who Killed Edgar Allen Poe and Bad Apple Circus, as well as singing with the Embers Ensemble. After returning to Florida during the pandemic Carlos was fortunate to work on 12 short films including 10 Minutes, Covington (still making its rounds in festivals), and Thee Guilty (for which he won Best Actor at the OIF Film Festival 2021). Carlos continues to explore new avenues of artistic expression including writing new immersive pieces, shorts, and web series, collaborating with local bands, and teaching new artists how to find their voice.
