Virtual Field Trips

Experience the wonder of a theatrical performance from anywhere! Expand your students’ imaginations as we bring stories and characters to life on the virtual stage. Performances are available for elementary, middle, and high school groups as well as homeschool groups, clubs, and the general public. These plays are chosen with an eye to the needs of school curriculum and the needs of young people and families in our community. Below are upcoming opportunities and additional information.

Aesop’s Fables

PreK – 5th Grade
August 2021 through May 2022

Experience your favorite Aesop’s Fables, including The Boy Who Cried Wolf, The Goose That Laid the Golden Egg, and The Tortoise and the Hare. In this INTERACTIVE VIRTUAL performance, students join actors on the video call where their chat messages influence the show!

Performance runs approximately 40 minutes with no intermission.

FEE: $155 per class (25 students); $500 for 4 classes

Digital Shakes Alive!

Supplement to any Shakespeare play

RECOMMENDED: 6th – 12th Grade

Experience our Shakes Alive! workshop ON-DEMAND using our curated lesson plan, videos, and handouts. Following our recorded instruction, students and teachers engage in an interactive plot summary of one of William Shakespeare’s plays and learn to paraphrase Shakespearean text, distinguishing between the denotative and connotative meanings of words. Currently available for Hamlet, Macbeth, Romeo and Juliet, and Richard III.

In this on demand workshop, students will watch Q&A videos of theatre professionals focusing on Acting, Stage Management / Production Management, Development / Fundraising, Marketing, New Play Development, Artistic Director, Box Office, Managing Director, Lighting Design, Sound Design, Costume Design, Set Design and Props Design. Students will then complete a walk-in-the-shoes activity for each career area.

All Middle and High School Workshops align with Florida Standards in Reading, Speaking and Listening, Theater Arts, and Social Studies.
