Lobby renovations are in full swing!

We are refreshing our space with a vibrant new paint job, brand-new carpeting, and signage at our main entrance. As we gear up for our 36th season, our updated lobby will offer a more welcoming experience for our patrons. Debuting this season, we are introducing visual video timelines that showcase the history and archives of our theater.

    Margeson Theater Updates

Next up for OST Renovations ‘24: Our Margeson Theater! Our scene shop has completely removed the stage that has been in place since 2001 and is currently in the process of ripping out the flooring in the theater.                       “Today we’re wrapping up the removal of the old stage floor to prepare for the installation of our new base,” said Hannah Kleinpeter, assistant technical director. “Jamie is cutting up the wood that needs to be removed from the floor and Bre is removing the old wood from the stage trap so that it can be replaced. Once we finish this, we’ll reconstruct our new unit floor, which will go on our Margeson stage.” For this reconstructed stage, our team is putting in place marine ply, a strong and structural type of wood that will allow our Margeson stage to last another 15-20 years!

This Week at Orlando Shakes: Donor & Timeline Wall Removal

    THIS WEEK AT SHAKES:

We are transforming our lobby area in preparation for our 36th season. We are currently removing our traditional timeline and donor walls, which have displayed our history, achievements, and valued supporters of Orlando Shakes. Over these next few months, we are converting to a digital timeline wall. Our goal is to elevate our space to create a more inviting and engaging atmosphere, where you can explore our history and celebrate our progress in a whole new way. With our doors opening this upcoming November, you’ll have the opportunity to explore our newly transformed lobby and discover how Orlando Shakes became what it is today.

The Donor Wall and Timeline Wall have served as backdrops for numerous Opening Night parties at Orlando Shakes.
