About This Production
Vampire attacks, werewolf sightings, and the resurrection of an Egyptian princess make for an exciting start to married life for Lady Enid, Lord Edgar’s second wife. Set in mystical Gothic England, audiences will die laughing at this melodramatic farce – a quick-change marathon in which two actors play all the roles. “If Charlotte Brontë were to spend an afternoon bingeing on Hammer horror flicks, medicinal sherry and Jiffy Pop, perhaps she could dream up a tale as delirious as that of Irma Vep.” (The New York Times)
Critic and Audience Reviews
-Audience MemberThese actors were just superb! I have seen two-man plays before, but this was outstanding. I’ve never seen such effective and rapid costume and character changes.
-McKenzie Lakey, BroadwayWorld OrlandoAs we look at the well-balanced humor the men use as they play to each others’ strengths, it becomes clear just how complex and versatile each actor is as he transitions from role to role with grace.
